Honoring Mothers This Mother’s Day

This past Mother’s Day, we gave thanks to God for the incredible gift of mothers — women whose love, sacrifice, strength, and faith shape hearts and homes in countless ways each day. We especially lifted our hearts in gratitude to our Blessed Mother Mary, whose faithful “yes” brought our Savior into the world and opened the way for our salvation.

Mary remains the perfect model of motherhood: humble, loving, steadfast, and completely devoted to God’s will. In her care for Jesus, we see the beauty of a mother’s vocation and the quiet strength that nurtures faith within the family. As our spiritual mother, she continues to guide us ever closer to her Son.

We were also grateful for every mother, grandmother, godmother, foster mother, adoptive mother, and spiritual mother in our parish community. Thank you for the many ways you reflect God’s love to your children and families through your patience, compassion, sacrifices, encouragement, and prayers. The work of a mother is often unseen, yet it leaves an eternal impact.

Thank you especially for your tireless efforts in teaching your children to know and love Christ. Whether through bedtime prayers, bringing your family to Mass, offering words of wisdom, or simply living your faith faithfully each day, you help plant seeds that bear fruit for generations.

Even though Mother’s Day has passed, our gratitude remains. May all mothers know how deeply they are loved and appreciated, and may the Blessed Virgin Mary continue to intercede for them, strengthen them, and fill their hearts with peace and joy.

“Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee…”
