Sent to Serve: Presented by Pinecone Home and Garden
In the midst of ordinary time, we are reminded there is nothing ordinary when you are called to a Christian lifestyle. When asked which is the greatest of the commandments, Christ responded, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. [...] And a second is like it- You shall love your neighbor as yourself." (Matthew 22:37-39).
What an extraordinary call to service! This call from our Lord reminds us that love is actionable. While we can all commit to this call by discerning our days through Christ, opportunities to serve are underscored by events like Sent to Serve. When we came together as the hands and feet of Christ to joyfully serve our community, we put our faith into action. In serving our community by doing several cleanup jobs, fixer-uppers, and even playing Bingo with our elderly friends, we can feel Christ's loving presence in turn.
