In Loving Memory of Deacon Jim Hackett

Dear St. Paul Parish Family,

It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we share the news that our beloved Deacon Jim Hackett passed away on Tuesday night.

ree

Deacon Jim was a faithful servant of Christ whose heart for ministry touched countless lives in our parish and throughout the New Bern community. He guided many into the Catholic faith with wisdom, compassion, and joy. Whether serving at Mass, coordinating outreach, or offering a kind word and listening ear, Deacon Jim embodied what it means to be Christ’s hands and feet in the world.

Deacon Jim's wife Lisa, thanks you for the outpouring of love and support, but requests privacy at this time. Funeral arrangements will be announced as soon as they are available. In the meantime, please join us in praying for Deacon Jim’s eternal rest and for comfort for Lisa and all who mourn his passing.

Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him.

In Christ Jesus,

Fr. Steven Costello
